Christopher Carson began his musical studies at the age of 6. Born in San
Antonio, but growing up in Houston, Texas, he attended The High School for the
Performing and Visual Arts and studied with Timothy Hester,
a Juilliard graduate. Other teachers have included Danny Kelley, Abbey Simon,
Ludmilla Lifson, Brian Moll, and Victor Rosenbaum.

Mr. Carson has been a very successful competitor, capturing many awards and
top ratings in competitions throughout his career. He was the inaugural winner
of the Pacifica Ouartet Competition, and, in 2009, performed the Brahms piano
quintet with the Grammy-award winning group. He has received first prize in
numerous concerto competitions, and has appeared as a soloist with many
orchestras over the years, most notably with Orchesterakademie in Germany in
2008, performing the repertoire of Beethoven, Liszt, Shostakovich and Mendelssohn. In 2011, he won the Longy School of Music’s Honors Competition, and performed the Shostakovich Concertino for 2 pianos.

Mr. Carson has performed throughout the United States and Europe, where he
has performed both solo and chamber works. Mr. Carson’s performances have
taken him to New York, Dallas, Chicago, Boston, Houston, Montreal and overseas
to venues in Austria, Italy, France, and Germany. Christopher has performed in
the master classes of Leon Flesher, Anton Kuerti, Peter Takacs, Stanislov
Oudenitch, Yoheved Kaplinsky, and Ilan Schneider. He has performed chamber
repertoire in master classes for The Ying Quartet, The Pacifica Quartet, and
members of the Claremont Piano Trio. Also a composer, Carson premiered his
Fantasy for Piano in Italy in 2006, and is very involved in composing
both sacred and secular music. Mr. Carson is an active teacher, coaching both
pianists and vocalists. He currently resides in Boston, where he attended Longy
School of Music at Bard College, earning a Master’s degree, in Collaborative Piano.
